Waterford Music welcomes talented international Piano Trio to the Déise

The Amatis Piano Trio, a trio of critically acclaimed international musicians, will perform in Waterford City in a concert hosted by the classical music organisation, Waterford Music.
The Amatis Piano Trio is composed of Lea Hausmann from Germany on violin, Sam Shepherd from the UK on cello and Mengjie Han from The Netherlands on piano.
This year is a momentous year for Amatis as the trio celebrates its 10th anniversary and it has performed in a total of 43 countries since the formation of the trio. Although, the group is no stranger to Waterford having performed here previously in 2018. Arriving shortly after their Italy performance, the trio will only perform twice in Ireland, firstly in Waterford, then heading North West to their second concert which is in Sligo. Upon leaving Ireland, the Amatis will travel across Europe with dates marked for performances in Denmark, France and the United Kingdom.
The Trio has received international recognition and has won many prestigious awards, including the ECHO (European Concert Halls Association) Rising Star award and the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist Award. It has featured at some of the premier events of the classical music world, including the BBC Proms and the Edinburgh National Festival. The three musicians currently hold positions as musicians in residence at Cambridge University, however, the Amatis Piano Trio was originally formed in Amsterdam.
The Trio will perform a programme of romantic classical music by Liszt, Beethoven, Haydn and Mendelssohn for the Waterford audience.
The concert takes place in the Dr Mary Strangman Large Room, City Hall, Waterford, at 7.30pm on Thursday, October 3. Tickets are available from the Waterford Music website, waterford-music.org, and on the door with cash and card payments accepted.
