All female punk rock band from Waterford release first single

An up and coming local band have released their highly anticipated debut single.
Ruin(ed) are an all female band from Waterford and their first single is 'Upside Down'.
The three piece punk rock 'riot grrrl' band, is composed of Lucy Colbert on drums, Emma Coghlan on bass guitar and Sadhbh Ní Chéilleachair on lead guitar and vocals.
All three Ruin(ed) band members are secondary school students: Lucy and Emma attend Waterpark College and Sadhbh is in Gaelcholáiste Phort Láirge.
The girls first met when participating in the 2023 Waterford Youth Arts production of, 'The Blame and How to Avoid It', performed at Garter Lane Arts Centre.
The band subsequently got up and running.
Ruin(ed) have since been regulars at events promoted by Waterford Youth Arts.
In particular they performed at the Teenage Kicks evenings held at Waterford Gallery of Modern Art and further afield around the county.
Ruin(ed) have also performed at indoor and outdoor venues in Waterford.
They have appeared as part of the Spraoi festival, and gigged in Kilkenny, Dublin and Longford.
In addition to playing with the punk band Lucy, Emma and Sadhbh have continued their involvement with Waterford Youth Arts.
They appeared in last year’s perfomances of 'Under Milk Wood', which was staged successfully in in Garter Lane.
The trio were also in the cast for this year’s production of 'Saba’s Swim', which was also staged in Garter Lane and the Lyric Theatre in Belfast.
'Upside Down', is one of their own compositions and it was recorded by Ruin(ed) at The Hive artist studios and rehearsal space in Waterford, with help from Wav Mastering in Limerick.
The track has now been officially released and can be listened to now on Spotify.
