Gardaí attend altercation in Waterford City centre
The altercation took place in the Applemarket area of the city
The Gardaí attended an incident that occurred in Waterford City centre this afternoon (Friday, July 24).
The incident happened in the Applemarket area of the city which is a busy thoroughfare surrounded by pubs and cafés.
A senior member of the Gardaí in Waterford confirmed that an incident took place.
He said an altercation happened involving a number of youths who encountered each other in apple market.
It's believed one man claimed to have been assaulted, however, it's understood no significant injury occurred.
