Tributes are pouring in for a young mother who suddenly passed away, leaving family, friends and the community in shock. 

The late Claire Power (Priory Lawn, Ballybeg, Waterford and formerly of Ballybeg Drive) died on Tuesday, July 30.

Predeceased by her sister Suzanne.

Claire will be sadly missed by her loving son Ryan, parents John and Bridie, sisters Caroline and Christine, brothers Michael, Jason and Gavin, brothers-in-law Sol and James, sisters-in-law Michelle, Sarah and Pamela, Uncles, Aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Described as a "beautiful soul" and a person who was "larger than life in every way", the Waterford community has expressed many condolences to Claire's family, with the majority paying respects to Claire's teenage son, Ryan. 

"My sincere condolences to Claire's son and extended family. Claire was just a really nice and good person, never ever passed me without a hello and a smile. Claire I hope you get the best bed in Heaven. May God guide your family at this terribly sad time," said one tribute. 

Another reads: "Heartbroken to hear this! Claire was a lovely bubbly girl who always made time for anyone. Thinking of all of Claire's family at this difficult time. May she rest in peace."

Funeral arrangements

Reposing at Thompson’s Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford on Saturday, August 3, from 7pm to 8.30pm with vigil prayers and rosary at 8pm.

Walking from her residence en route to St. Saviour’s Church, Ballybeg on Sunday for Mass on arrival at 1.30pm followed by burial in Kilbarry Cemetery.
