The fundraising effort continues in the Déise for the purchase of a West Waterford Rapid Response Vehicle and there was a great show of support for the cause recently when members of the fundraising committee took to the streets to highlight the campaign.
Volunteers from the campaign team were out and about in Dungarvan town to express their gratitude for the incredible support demonstrated so far for what could potentially be a life saving cause.

A spokesperson for the committee told Waterford News & Star: "The volunteers will continue to their fundraising crusade and visit towns and businesses across West Waterford."
"From local retail outlets, pharmacies, health specialists, insurance providers, hospitality providers, restaurants to a host of fundraising events, the West Waterford Rapid Response Vehicle cause continues to receive an outpouring of support from all communities and sectors," said the spokesperson.

The volunteer team will continue to be out and about over the coming weeks with a main event, 'Breakfast with the Stars', taking place on Friday, August 23, in Grattan Square, Dungarvan when sporting legends, Ronan O'Gara and Ian Rush will be in attendance with RTE stalwart, Marty Morrissey acting as MC.
Donations raised through the local communities, businesses and fundraising events will go towards the EMRV campaign.

"The purpose is to ensure that emergency life-saving assistance can be provided to those in need in a timely and effective manner," said the spokesperson.
The Rapid Response vehicle will cover West Waterford and the Copper Coast, along with the Comeragh Mountains and surrounding areas.

The spokesperson said the volunteer team is very appreciative of the support that upcoming fundraising events will give the campaign including: the Summer Charity Bridge Dungarvan, in Lawlor's Hotel, every Wednesday until August 28; Quiz Night in Minnies Lounge Bar, Dungarvan, on Thursday, August 8 and The Garden Festival Fundraiser, at the Old Still Bar Clashmore, on Sunday, August 11.
