Glamour and glitz was the order of the day recently in Waterford when Foróige clubs from Waterford, Wexford and Kilkenny attended the Foróige Interclub Ball.
The event was held in O'Shea's Hotel, in Tramore, and the spirit of youth leadership was on full display.

The event saw a massive turnout of young people from clubs in the three counties and was the culmination of months of hard work and planning.
In a true demonstration of youth empowerment, the entire evening was organised by a dedicated committee of teenagers from two local clubs: Outrage Foróige Club, based in Waterford City, and Make A Difference Foróige Club, from Tramore.

A spokesperson for Foróige said the ballroom at O’Shea’s Hotel was filled with excitement as clubs from across the region were welcomed.
The clubs in attendance included: Waterford City and County: Outrage, The A-Team, White Strand Dungarvan, Clashmore/Kinsalebeg, and Make A Difference Tramore; Wexford: Boolavogue and Clohamon; Kilkenny: Freshford, Kilkenny ASD, Cuffesgrange, and Piltown.

Amira Murphy, a member of the organising committee, opened the evening and in welcoming the crowd said it was great to see such a large group in attendance.
"It is amazing to see such a massive turnout," she said, noting the importance of bringing clubs together from across the region to build new friendships.

The committee responsible for the night's success was composed of: Emma Richards, Carrie Fitzgerald, Amira Murphy, Abbie-Rose McDonald, Abbie Connors, and Saoirse Ryan.
They were praised for their professionalism in coordinating what was a large-scale event.

Committee member Saoirse Ryan highlighted the motivation behind the ball during her speech.

"We organised this night because we wanted everyone to have a chance to dress up, meet new people, and just have a brilliant time together," she said.
"This Ball was organised by a committee of young people who have been working behind the scenes for months to make tonight happen," she added.

The committee also extended their gratitude to the staff of O’Shea’s Hotel for their hospitality, and gave a special shout-out to club leaders Sarah and AnnaBelle McKirdy, and Ciara Richards, for their unwavering support throughout the planning process.

Foróige continues to provide vital outlets for young people to develop leadership skills, give back to their communities, and socialise in a safe, supportive environment.
