Flood risk high as weather warning remains in place

A weather warning issued for Counties Waterford and Wexford earlier this evening will remain in place until at least midnight on Monday.
The warning, issued by Waterford City and County Council on behalf of Met Éireann, was at status yellow level and warned of heavy rain showers with risk of flooding increased due to high river levels and saturated ground.
The likely impact of the weather could include river and surface flooding, difficult travelling conditions and poor visibility.
The warning came into effect from 7pm this evening, Sunday, December 14, and will remain in place until at least midnight on Monday.
