The organisers of a recent community field day in Waterford were delighted with the success of the event.
One of the organisers of the even, which took place in Tourin, said: "The entire weekend lead up, as well as the event itself, was brilliant and a testament to a fantastic community."

"Saturday gave way to a lovely day and perfect conditions to put up our newly purchased marquee, and I am not joking when I say it takes a committee to erect a tent," she said.
"But we are now all experts for next year," she added.
The family field day was very much a community event in every sense of the word because people from around the area gave it their full support, both in attendance and also in providing useful items to use such as gazebos, patio furniture, burco boilers, teapots and tablecloths.
"It was a case of ‘all hands-on deck’ on Sunday morning before the gates opened to the public," said the spokesperson. A lot of organising went into the event but the hard work paid off.

"Everyone in Tourin and anyone connected to us, were busy and all will be delighted that at some point during this week, they will again have some version of normality restored on the home front," said the spokesperson for the organisers.
What added to the enjoyment of the day was the fact the weather on the day was great, albeit a little windy, but the sun shone and those in attendance enjoyed the day.
"Throughout the entire weekend, the committee were totally energised and positive about hosting another hugely successful field day," said the spokesperson.

The organisers expressed gratitude to everyone involved in organising the event and to those who gave it support locally including butchers, bakers, committee members and their extended families.

A word of thanks was also conveyed to Philip English for the entertainment and everyone from the locality who attended and helped make the day a great success.
"We are very grateful for the wonderful support we get year on year," said the spokesperson.
