Ferrybank's Abbey Community School celebrates excellent Junior Cycle results 

Abbey Community College students delighted to receive their junior cycle results.

Students at Abbey Community College are celebrating after receiving their Junior Cycle examination results, with a large number achieving distinction grades. 

The school has congratulated its Junior Cycle Class of 2026 on their achievements, describing the results as a reflection of the hard work and commitment shown by students throughout the past three years. 

Principal Michelle Jefford said the school was immensely proud of the students, with many securing distinctions, the highest grade awarded at Junior Cycle level.

She said the results marked an important milestone for the students and recognised not only their academic achievements but also the resilience, growth and determination they demonstrated during their Junior Cycle studies.

Ms Jefford also acknowledged the contribution made by teachers, non-teaching staff and students' families throughout their Junior Cycle education.

“Behind every successful student is a network of support,” she said.

“I would like to sincerely thank our teaching staff and non-teaching staff, parents/guardians and families, for the encouragement, care and guidance they provide every day.

“Together, we foster an environment where students are challenged to achieve their best and supported to grow as confident, capable young people.”

The examination results will form part of each student's Junior Cycle Profile of Achievement (JCPA), which recognises their wider learning experience alongside their examination performance. 

This includes classroom-based assessments, participation, personal development and the development of key skills throughout their time at Junior Cycle. 

The school said it now looks forward to supporting the students as they continue their education, guided by its ethos of "Together Towards Excellence."
