Ferrybank Park lighting

The Council raised the issue of park lighting.
Cathaoirleach Ger Frisby raised the issue of Ferrybank Park lighting at the recent Piltown Municipal District meeting. Stating that the meeting was the last before the local elections, Cllr Frisby said: “I think with the onset of antisocial behaviour, I think that we have to look it at the next Council meeting going forward with the next iteration of the Municipal area.” He continued: “We should put it on the agenda. We’ve a lovely facility there but we need to make sure that it is protected and the residents of the area feel safe.”
Sean McKeown of Kilkenny County Council said: “There’s a lot of antisocial behaviour taking place at night. When Gardaí arrive, the culprits are hiding in dark spaces in the park.”
