'Elevated' levels of bacteria at County Waterford beach
Whiting Bay has tested positive for high levels of bacteria
Waterford City and County Council have issued a bathing prohibition notice at Whiting Bay after 'elevated' levels were detected at the area.
A statement from the Council reads: "In order to avoid the risk of illness, bathing is prohibited at the beach until further notice."
"Additional testing is being arranged to monitor the level of bacteria, and the beach will be re-opened when the bathing water returns to good status."
