Drivers advised activity ongoing during Waterford road race
The popular cycling event features a series of races throughout the day, with competitors on local roads between 9am and 5pm.
Motorists travelling in parts of Waterford today are being urged to remain vigilant as the DCC National Masters Cycling Road Race continues.
The popular cycling event features a series of races throughout the day, with competitors on local roads between 9am and 5pm.
Riders are following a circuit route beginning in Kilmacthomas, travelling along the L3042, L3041 and L3029 roads towards the Five Cross Roads junction in Stradbally.
From there, participants continue along the R675 towards Seafield before joining the R677 through Ballylaneen and returning to Kilmacthomas to complete a lap.
Ahead of the event, Waterford City and County Council issued a traffic advisory, warning motorists to expect cyclists on the route and potential delays.
Road users are being asked to drive with caution, remain alert for large groups of cyclists, and follow the instructions of face marshals positioned along the course.
The event is expected to conclude at approximately 5pm this evening.
