DNA tests identity man who handled knife found in city
The gardaí confiscated a knife, which was found on the ground in the area.
A man appeared in Waterford District Court last week in relation to an incident, which took place on John Street in Waterford city last year.
On October 24, 2024, Gardaí in the city responded to a group of males fighting on John Street.
The gardaí confiscated a knife, which was found on the ground in the area.
DNA tests completed on the knife matched to a 34-year-old man named Thomas Costigan, of no fixed abode.
Judge Kevin Staunton accepted jurisdiction over the matter.
The matter is due to be back in court on January 13, 2026.
