An event called, 'Diversity, Not Division', will take place in Waterford City on Saturday, July 26.

The event is being organised by the Waterford Coalition Against Fascism (WCAF) which is a broad, non-partisan alliance of community groups, trade unionists, political representatives, cultural organisations, educators, artists, faith leaders, and concerned residents.

It will take place at the Bishop's Palace at 1.30pm

A spokesperson said the peaceful, positive, and friendly gathering in Waterford City will be aimed at showing "how great communities can be made even greater by inclusion".

“This is not a protest against people’s genuine concerns about housing, healthcare, or the cost of living. We fully support the right to demand better — but we reject efforts to twist that anger into racism, fear or hate,” said the organisers.

“Waterford has a proud history of solidarity, inclusion, and resistance to fascism. We aim to honour that legacy by standing up for the values that truly make our city strong: diversity, dignity, and unity.”

The event will feature speakers, music, cultural performances, and community voices — all coming together to celebrate what unites us and push back against those who seek to divide us. To endorse or get involved, email: waterfordagainstfascism@gmail.com
