Dedicated mother of two laid to rest

The late Rebecca McGrath.
Rebecca McGrath was laid to rest on Saturday, December 14, at St Patrick’s Cemetery in Clonmel.
Her Requiem Mass was led by Canon Brendan Crowley at S.S. Peter and Paul’s Church. Rebecca’s sisters, Caragh and Paige, and her mother Mellissa, introduced the mass.
Caragh said Rebecca was a wonderful mother who loved to dance and laugh.
“Becky, the most beautiful soul you could ever come across — heart of gold you had. You would drop everything in a heartbeat. You just so loved beyond words,” said Caragh.
Paige said her nieces and nephews will have memories of her “they will cherish forever”, and read out a message to her sons Ajay and Alex.
“Just remember you are Mammy's world. She just loved and adored you both more than you will ever know, and no matter where you go in life, just know I will always be beside ye,” read Paige.
Mellissa said there was a part of her daughter in all of them and that she was a “credit” to her family, and thanked all of those who helped to find Rebecca.
“We would like to thank all of Clonmel, river rescue, the guards, everyone, social media, family and friends for helping us find her and lay her to rest,” said Mellissa.
Rebecca passed away on December 10, 2024 at the age of 33. She is from William Street, Clonmel, and formally of Oakland Drive, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. Fr Crowley also thanked Rebecca’s parents for telling him all about her. He read aloud some of the condolence messages left for her family and said that was a sign of the good she had done in her life.
