County Waterford’s St. Mary’s Touraneena National School has been crowned ‘Ireland’s Fittest School 2024’.

Following its participation in a three-month competition, in which hundreds of schools from all over Ireland took part, St. Mary’s went on to win the live grand final, bringing home €5,000 worth of sports equipment.

The recent victory highlights St. Mary's rich legacy of sporting success, as numerous former students have gone on to excel in their respective sports, including five-time All-Ireland senior ladies football champion Oliva Condon (Butler) and pro golfer Seamus Power.
