Councillors express sympathies for Waterford midwife who passed away

At the December meeting of the Dungarvan-Lismore District Council meeting, Councillors expressed their condolences to the family of Mary Lonergan.

Cllr. Damien Geoghegan said: “Mary was really well-known in the locality through her work as a midwife in Waterford hospital over many years and she was a great character, great personality. I would like to extend my sympathy to her family.” 

Cllr Thomas Phelan also extended his sympathies to Mrs Lonergan’s family.

Cllr Joe O’Riordan said, “She is very much a part of the fabric of the village” of Abbeyside.

Mrs. Lonergan passed away on Thursday, December 4. She was predeceased by her daughter Helena. She is deeply mourned by her loving husband Tony, her family Brian, Fiona and Aidan, daughter-in-law Kirsty, son-in-law Alan, grandchildren Aoife, Aoibhinn, Mollie, Cormac, Bradley and Brogan, brothers Pat, Tom and Michael O’Leary, sisters Margaret, Catherine, Claire and Anne, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
