Concerns raised as children could pick up used needles

A local Councillor has raised concerns about drug use and the disposal of used syringes across Waterford City.
The issue of used syringes on the streets of Waterford is worsening, according to a local Councillor.
Last week, Fine Gael Councillor Frank Quinlan was out on the canvass trail when he came across syringes on the footpaths of the Larchville and Manor St John area.
Cllr Quinlan told the Waterford News & Star that it's "very concerning to know that an innocent child out playing or walking along the footpath could easily pick up those needles on the ground."
He added that this is an issue that needs to be addressed across the city as drug use is becoming more prevalent.
