Kilkenny County Council has announced plans to transform the former Clover Meats Social Site in Christendom, Ferrybank, into a vibrant new community park.
As part of the early planning stages, the Council is inviting residents to attend a public consultation evening to share their ideas and feedback on the proposed master plan for the site.
The consultation will take place on Thursday, May 1, at 7pm in the Ferrybank Primary Care Centre (X91 PK2V).
All members of the public are welcome to attend.
As one local commented to Waterford News & Star: "This is a key opportunity for the community to help shape the future of the space, ensuring it reflects local needs and aspirations."
"A rise in female participation in local sports, combined with limited outdoor facilities for Abbey Community College, has underscored the need for more playing space," he said.
"Restoring the former Clover Meats pitches could significantly help address the shortage," he added.
