An opportunity to get rid of some of your older clothes in exchange for something different will present itself for the people of Waterford this month.

A clothes swap initiative will take place in Central Library, in Lady Lane, on Wednesday, May 28, from 5pm to 6.30pm.

The event is being organised by Europe Direct Waterford, Waterford Climate Action Team and Waterford Libraries.

A spokesperson for the organisers commented to waterford-news.ie: "Come along and upgrade your wardrobe. Step away from fast fashion and exchange your clothes for something new to you."

Clothes drop-off will take place from 11am onwards. It will be a free event and everyone is welcome to attend.

People can bring up to five pieces of clean adult clothing, in good repair, to the library, between 11am and 5pm and swap them for a voucher for the same number of pieces.

The swap will open from 5pm and those attending will be able to browse the donated pieces and find out more about mending and bringing new life to your clothes as there will also be a clothes repair demo in the evening.
