Case of man charged with murdering Yveta Donovalova in Waterford put back
Tomas Marvanek, age 39, was charged with murder.
The case of the man charged with the murder of Yveta Donovalova has been put back for two weeks.
Tomas Marvanek (39), of Grange Heights, Waterford City, was charged and cautioned just after midnight on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 and appeared before Waterford District Court that evening.
This week, Mr Marvanek appeared again before the court by video link and was assisted by a Czech interpreter.
Standing in for solicitor Ken Cunningham, barrister Ciaran P. Murphy told Judge Kevin Staunton that the issue of bail does not arise because it cannot be considered in the district court.
Judge Kevin Staunton asked if there was a bail application to be made to the High Court, to which the barrister said he did not know.
Advising that the defendant would need to consult with his solicitor if he was to apply for bail, the judge put the matter back to May 19.
