Burst watermain impacting water supplies
Uisce Éireann crews are working to repair a burst watermain in Dungarvan and restore water supplies to homes, businesses and community facilities.
The burst watermain may cause supply disruptions to customers in Dungarvan, Abbeyside, Shandon, Stephen Street, Ballinroad, Clonea and surrounding areas.
"Every effort is being made to restore a full water supply as quickly as possible and minimise disruption across the community" a spokesperson from Uisce Eireann said.
Maura Phelan, Water Operations Manager, said: "We understand the inconvenience that an unplanned outage causes for homes, businesses and community facilities, and we thank the community for its patience and support while repairs continue. Crews are working as quickly and safely as possible to restore normal water supplies to all affected areas."
Repairs are expected to be completed later today.
Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
