A young man, who is getting ready to do an apprenticeship, was before Waterford District Court for two drug possession offences.

Shane Millea, 20, of 32 Gleann Doire, Tramore, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of drugs contrary to section 3 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The court heard that Mr Millea was observed heavily intoxicated on December 21, 2025 at the Applegreen at Pickardstown. He was searched and Gardaí found suspected cannabis worth €50.

On September 26, 2025, a search found €100 of cannabis for his own personal use.

Judge Kevin Staunton adjourned the matter for 12 months to see what progress Mr Millea makes in the meantime. He said that any interaction with gardaí would result in a conviction.
