Armed Gardaí unit attend incident in Waterford City 

Armed members of An Garda Síochána attended to an incident at a retail centre in Waterford earlier today, Friday, February 21. 

At 11.45am this morning, Gardaí received a report of the alleged possession of an offensive weapon at City Square Shopping Centre.

Gardaí, including members of the Divisional Armed Support Unit, responded a short time later and attended the scene.

According to a Gardaí spokesperson, no weapon has been located at time of writing.
