The Gardaí are appealing for information from the public.

The Gardaí in Waterford have issued an appeal for information from the public following a fatal road traffic accident.

The single vehicle accident, involving a motorcycle, occurred in Ballinahilla, Co Waterford, near Bunmahon on Wednesday, July 30, at around 11.45pm.

A spokesperson for the Gardaí said: "The single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred on the R675 at Ballinahilla at approximately 11.45pm."

The motorcyclist, a male in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His body was removed to the morgue at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

The road remains closed this morning to facilitate a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 11pm on Wednesday night and 12am (midnight) this morning (Thursday) are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
