The Sacred Heart Church

A man appeared in court last week over an alleged burglary from a Waterford city church, and for allegedly stealing €1,000 worth of items from a construction site in Ballybeg.

Edward O’Reilly (40), of Millbrook Court, Kilcohan, is accused of entering The Sacred Heart Church at The Folly on June 8, and inside finding a pair of keys, using the keys to enter the church’s store room and stealing cleaning products from the room.

In a separate incident that occurred two days later, the man is alleged to have stolen a generator worth €900 and a step ladder worth €100 from a construction site at Ballybeg Stores.

Mr O'Reilly will be produced at Waterford Courthouse next week with a view to finalising his matters before the court.
