Planners have greenlit the development of 99 new homes near Lacken Road on the outskirts of Waterford city.

The development will consist of houses and apartments, ranging from two-bed to four-bed units.

A creche building has also been approved.

Waterford City and County Council gave the go-ahead last week subject to 28 conditions.

The approved development forms part of a larger masterplan for 315 dwellings in the area.
