384 University Hospital Waterford staff members camped overnight at the hospital to ensure that patient care was not affected by Storm Éowyn.
A statement published by UHW says: "We not only had medical and nursing staff who answered the call, AHP's, technical services, non-clinical staff came on board and saw that the hospital ran smoothly during the red weather alert.
"A huge shout out to all our staff for going the extra mile."
Sinead Reynolds, the HSE’s Integrated Health Area Manager for Waterford and Wexford spoke today of her gratitude for the dedication from healthcare staff across hospitals, community and day services in preparation for Storm Éowyn.
