€114,200 of cannabis seized in Waterford and Cork 

As part of ongoing investigations targeting an organised crime group operating in the eastern and southern regions, Gardaí from the Waterford County Drug Unit and the Cork City Drug Unit conducted a number of searches on yesterday.

A vehicle and two residences were searched in Co. Cork and Co. Waterford, resulting in the seizure of suspected cannabis herb to the value of €114,200.

A male in his 50s was arrested and conveyed to a Garda Station in Cork City. 

He is currently being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The drugs seized will be forwarded to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
