A man who died after crashing a motorcycle in east Belfast has been named by police.

A man who died after a motorcycle crash in east Belfast has been named by police.

William Hunter, 37, from the Belfast area, was involved a single-vehicle collision on Castlereagh Road on Sunday at 11.50pm.

Emergency services were called to the scene, alongside officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), where they attended to Mr Hunter before transporting him to hospital.

According to police, he died in hospital a short time later.

Inspector Cherith Adair of the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Collision Investigation Unit stated: “Inquiries are continuing and we appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage which could assist our investigation, to contact the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 1693 of 28/09/25.”
