Man left with head wound after being beaten with metal bars in Omagh

A man had been left with a head wound after being attacked with metal bars.
The 28-year-old was set upon by three men during an aggravated burglary at a house in the Culmore Park area of Omagh in the early hours of Thursday.
Police said the trio forced their way into the property by smashing a window in the rear door shortly before 2am.
“The 28-year-old male occupant was then badly beaten with metal bars by the intruders, who took the victim’s phone as they left,” a police spokesperson said.
“One of the suspects is described as wearing a grey Adidas hoody with a black baseball cap and jeans, while the second was wearing a black jacket, baseball cap and jeans.
“The third was wearing jeans and a baseball cap. All three were described as wearing face coverings.
“The victim has been treated for his injuries, including a head wound, and is recovering.”
Police have appealed for anyone with information or footage which could assist detectives investigating the incident to contact Omagh CID by calling 101, quoting reference 117 28/05/26.
