Stop-go traffic system to be implemented on Waterford City road for essential works

The road works will take place on the Dunmore Road until the end of July

The Dunmore Road in Waterford City is to have a stop-go traffic management system implemented on it to enable essential works to be carried out.

Ormonde Construction Ltd. issued advance notification that the works will be begin on the Dunmore Road (R683) on July 29. The works are being done to facilitate the installation of new stormwater drainage from the Island View treatment plant to the Booterstown junction.

The restrictions will see the road reduced to single lane/cycle lane with stop-go and traffic lights in place. It's expected the traffic management system will remain in place until the end of August.

Local diversions will be in operation and indicated through signage for road users. In making the notification Ormonde Construction Ltd. also noted that as far as practical local access will be facilitated while the road works are taking place, however, there is likely to be some delays. The works will also be dependent on the weather and subject to change at short notice.

The company appreciated the public's cooperation and apologised in advance for any inconvenience caused.
