Quiz Night

As our 2026 quiz night approaches rest assured that Quiz Master extraordinaire Edward Lynch is extremely busy putting together just the ‘right mix’ of questions. This takes a bit of fine tuning to get the balance right, making sure that there are a few to test you without them being too difficult, and a few easy ones to make us think we might be geniuses. It also would be wise to remember there might be a couple of curve balls thrown in just to keep us on our toes – sure that’s half the fun. There are plenty of topics to run with – the Olympics, Donald Trump, The Paralympics - due to start March 6th - to mention a few potentials. Local news and maybe Cheltenham past and present could feature too. We'd better stop or you will all be studying for the next few weeks and there will be trouble deciding on winners. So go on, save the date, Saturday, March 14, at 8pm in the Sportsman’s Bar, Cappoquin.

Congratulations

Congratulations to local man Val Flynn on celebrating a 'zero' birthday last weekend. A great night of celebrations, surrounded by family, was had in the Walter Raleigh. Happy birthday Val from all.

Wedding Bells

Wedding are bells on the horizon as local man Craig Dunne popped the question over the weekend. Congratulations and best wishes for loads of happiness to both Craig and Ciara. Best wishes from all on the committee. It's ovely to have good news to celebrate. Remember to let us know if you want to note some significant event in someone’s lives we will be happy to report on good news anytime.
