Bereavement

The death sadly occurred on Thursday, December 12, of Jill Mulligan, Beach House, Woodstown, Co Waterford. She is survived by her loving children, Billy, Peter, Roger, Adam and Rachel, her children-in-law, Jonny, Margaret and Mary, her 11 grandchildren and partners Emma, Aideen, Kevin, Hannah, Poppy, Alana, Taigh, Oisin, Stephen, Cian and Adam, grandson-in-law Jim, her seven great-grandchildren, Aaron, Eoghan, Kellie, Harry, PJ, Archie and Billie, nieces, nephews, her loving dog Beko, extended family, neighbours and friends. Jill will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends. A memorial service to celebrate Jill's wonderful life will take place on Thursday, January 19, at 2pm in St Patrick’s Gateway, Patrick's Street, Waterford. All are welcome, There will be light refreshments served. Condolences are extended to Jill's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Bereavement

The death sadly occurred on Wednesday, December 18, of Mrs Pauline Bracken (nee: Kelly), Viewmount Park, Waterford. Formerly of Blackrock, Co Dublin, late of RTĒ. Predeceased by her loving siblings Aidan, Mary Rose, Brenda, her twin David, and Frank, she is survived by her loving husband Niall, all her nieces and nephews, especially Trevor and Lucinda, extended family, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Pauline will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family neighbours and many friends. Requiem Mass took place on Saturday, December 21, at 2pm in St Mary's Church, Ballygunner, Waterford, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Condolences are extended to Pauline's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

The death sadly occurred on Wednesday, December 18, of Mrs May Gahan (nee: Ryan), Ballygunnercastle, Grantstown, Co Waterford, formerly Cashel, Co Tipperary. Predeceased by her loving husband Pat, she is survived by her loving children John, Peter, Elizabeth and Mandy, son-in-law Derek, daughter-in-law Sharon, grandchildren Thomas, Mark, Paul, Laura, Kevin, Conor and Kieran, great-grandchildren, her nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. May will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends. As per May's wishes a private funeral will take place. Condolences are extended to May's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Dunmore RNLI Quiz

Save the date folks and join us for our annual Christmas quiz in Power's on Monday, December 30, at 8pm. Open to teams of four, the quizmasters on the night will be Tom and David Ryan. It's a night you don't want to miss and don’t forget to tell your friends. There will be a raffle on the night. See you there. 

Billy Galgey Memorial Swim

Join us on Christmas morning as we take to the waters for the Billy Galgey Memorial Swim. The slip across from Dooley’s, for an 11.15am start, is the place to be as we take the plunge. We are delighted to announce that all proceeds will go towards The Helping Hand Waterford. A local charity that does so much for our city and county in providing a hot meal for people in need.

Ishiara Sea Swim

The St. Joseph & Benildus Church Ishiara Sea swim will take place on St Stephen's Day in Dunmore East at 12.30pm. Sponsorship cards are at the back of the church. Take the plunge for our brothers and sister in Kenya or sponsor a brave family member.

Third Age Ireland

Do you need someone to talk to this Christmas. Call Seniorline free every day from 10am to 10pm on 1800804591 where trained volunteers are here to listen and support.

Parish Shop

There are beautiful Christmas Mass bouquets and gifts available in the parish shop. There is also a wonderful selection of Christmas items to brighten your celebrations including beautiful cards and candles, Nativity sets, seasonal decorations and much more. Opening hours are Monday to Friday, from 11am to 2pm. Stop by, browse, and find everything you need to share the festive spirit. All are welcome.

Ardkeen Library

The Staff at Ardkeen Library would like to wish all their wonderful customers a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. On Monday, December 23, all Waterford City and County Council Library branches will close at 1pm, with phones staffed until 3pm. They will reopen on Monday, December 30, with all branches operating from 10am to 5pm, unless normally closed on that day. On Tuesday, December 31, all branches will operate from 10am to 1pm, with phones staffed until 3pm, unless normally closed on that day. All online resources remain available to Library users over the Christmas period and all branches will reopen as normal on Thursday, January 2. My Open Library will be available during the Christmas period in Dungarvan, Lismore and Tramore branches to registered My Open Library users on a self-service basis. Please contact Dungarvan, Lismore and Tramore libraries during staffed hours for more information or to register for this service.

Calling all Scrabble enthusiasts. Why not pop in to Ardkeen library and join our Wednesday Adult Scrabble Club at 10.30am. All welcome.

Climate Action Workshop

Waterford Age Friendly in association with Age Friendly Ireland and CARO, are hosting a Climate Action Workshop on Tuesday, January 14, in Central Library. The workshop will be followed by a site visit to a local social enterprise Renew, Johnstown, Waterford. Lunch will be provided. Farronshoneen Centre

Farronshoneen Centre finished for their Christmas holidays on Friday, December 20, and will return on Monday, January 6. We want to wish all of our young people, families and volunteers a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year. Thank you for all you the support and laughter this year.
