Monster Céílí

Brush off your dancing shoes and come out of retirement for one evening only, and join in the fun at a Monster Céili being held in the Sliabh gCua Community Centre from 3pm to 6pm on Sunday, October 20.

Runner's Club

Our ‘Predict Your Time League’ returned last Monday night and well done to joint winners Mary and Pauline. A big thank you also to Richard Whitmore Painting and Decorating for sponsorship last week. This week’s league will be kindly sponsored by Eurofins Food. Looking forward to seeing you all at the track.

Online registration for the upcoming ‘Colm’s Memorial Run For Cancer’, in memory of our dear friend and club member Colm Ryan, is now open. The event will take place on Sunday, September 15, and those interested in participating can register online at https://eventmaster.ie/event/o7kMsk3tLm or through the QR link at https://eventmaster.ie/event/o7kMsk3tLm/qrcode

The online registration cost is €10 and registration on the day will be €15. There will be prizes for the top three females and males on the day. Number collection will be at the Touraneena Community Centre from 9.45am and refreshments will also be available in the centre after the race. The race will begin at 11am. (Eircode E91 F788).

We hope to see a great turnout for the event as Colm, over the years, raised thousands of euros for the Irish Cancer Society and was a fabulous mentor to many people in the Touraneena Runner’s Club. The race is being hosted by the West Waterford Athletics Club in conjunction with the Touraneena Runner’s Club and all proceeds will go the The Irish Cancer Society.

Bingo

Bingo is back in Ballymacarbry on Friday night, September 13, and while the date might be considered unlucky by some, it won’t be unlucky for everyone as there will some lucky winners going home on the night. As usual, single books cost €13 and double books cost €15. Jackpot sheets cost €2. Light refreshments will be available from the tuck shop. Please ensure any under 18’s are accompanied by an adult. Eyes down at 8pm, so why not come along and break the superstition, you might be our first jackpot winner of €500. All proceeds in aid of the Panda Playground development. We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank two local girls Lauren Coffey and Emelia Bogacz who donated to the Panda Playground last week. Both girls put their creative and entrepreneurial skills to the test and created handmade bracelets and decided to sell them amongst friends and neighbours in the community. Their achievements in just over two days raised a massive €222 for the playground. Well done to Lauren and Emelia.
