Passage senior hurlers put up a very good display v Ballygunner on last Friday week in Ballygunner losing out by a goal in Division 1 of the All County League 1-19 to 19 points with very good displays by Sean Kelly, Gary Cullinane, Thomas Carey and Kevin Cullinane and in Division 1 again Roanmore beat Passage in Passage on Thursday last by 2 points. In Division 8 the juniors had a comfortable win over Old Parish in Passage on Tuesday last. A game scheduled for this Friday in Passage the Juniors in Division 8 County League v De La Salle at 7.30pm and in Division 1 Seniors v Mt Sion in Mt Sion on Saturday, June 8th, at 7pm, check locally on day in case of change.
On the Inter county scene Waterford seniors lost by a single point to Clare in Ennis. Much was made out of an incident late into injury time regarding a ball going over the endline but the umpire called it correctly and it meant a 65 to Clare who scored the winning point. In fact the incident lost sight of the wonderful game Waterford and Clare served up with Waterford coming back several times to eventually make it a draw showing great determination and grit. This they did as they did v Cork and Tipperary with a new style of up the field hurling so different to their league displays. Goalkeeper O’Brien was terrific and in all games club or county, players will make mistakes as will officials, simply because they are human like all of us are, haven't yet met someone who doesn't make a mistake. By now the result of the final round robin game in Limerick last Sunday will have hopefully determined our season has not ended.

Congratulations to the Passage East and Faithlegg National School teams who won two Eastern Cumann na mBunscol U11 finals in Passage Grounds last Thursday. Passage won the Shield Final beating Gaelscoil Philib Barún Tramore and Faithlegg under 11 who beat St Saviours in the U11 Cup final.
