Local Notes: Playground progress and preparations underway for Challenge Cycle
Nire U7s who recently took part in a football blitz in Colligan at the weekend. This team trained hard all winter in the community centre’s astroturf facility so it’s great to see them putting their skills to good use!
Registrations continue at pace for our Comeragh and Knockmealdown Challenge, which takes place on Sunday, July 14. This Panda Playground Fundraiser promises to be a great event. Kindly organised by a group of volunteers from Dungarvan Cycling Club, we are looking forward to seeing a huge crowd participate. The event is part of Cycling Munster Leisure Series and will consist of two routes: 50km and 110km. Open to all cycling enthusiasts and leisure cyclists, you can register for the event through the link on our social media pages.
Ballymacarbry Community Centre will be the epicentre of the event and we’ll be looking for kind volunteers to be road marshals for this large event. Please contact us at the Community Centre on 086 0328467 if you would like to be involved.
After much deliberation and negotiation we are delighted to announce that we have chosen a playground provider for our ‘Panda Playground’. We have decided upon the world renowned company 'Kompan'. The quality of equipment supplied by Kompan is second to none so we are delighted to have them onboard. Our order has now been placed with the company which means our fundraising efforts will be kicking up a few gears in the coming weeks and months.
