The new Portlaw Utd U15 jerseys sponsored by Jimmy's Takeaway
Our AGM is happening on Friday, November 7th, at 7pm in the Clubhouse. This is your chance to get involved, share your ideas, and help shape the future of our great club - both on and off the field. Whether you’re a player, coach, parent or supporter we’d love to see you there. The club is always expanding and improving and there is a place for everyone. If you’d like to get involved for the 2026 season, contact any committee member or come along. Come along for a good chat and help us plan for another great year ahead.
U13 County Final: Well Done to our U13 camogie team who put in a brilliant performance in the recent U13D Cup County Final. Unfortunately the game did not go their way and Tramore came out victorious. We are very proud of the girls today, they fought well and never gave up. Their day will come, we are certain of that. This is a very close and talented little group and it's important that they stick together and come back fighting next year.

Enjoy the well-deserved break everyone. So 2025 season is over for this group, thanks to the girls who trained hard and were a pleasure to work with all year, thanks to the parents who supported us on the line, travelled to the matches and who helped out doing umpires and linesmen. Thanks to the coaches Patrick, Michelle, Victor and Niamh for their commitment to the team this year.
Best of a luck to Heather, Clodagh and all the girls in Cúilín Coffee. Another great addition to our facilities that include a community walking track, community gym as well as our top class playing and training facilities. Wishing the team at Cuilin the very best from your friends at Portlaw GAA, Portlaw Camogie Club and Portlaw LGFA.
Portlaw U16’s - Portlaw 3-3 Tramore: After a series of games where we were on the wrong side of results we picked up our first point of the campaign with a hard-fought draw against a very good Tramore side. We went 2-0 up early in the game through Harry Carroll who latched onto a wonderful ball from Darragh Long for the first before dispatching a penalty for the second. However, Tramore showed their resilience and we lost our way until five minutes to go when Aidan Walsh’s corner found Harry Carroll once again to complete the hat trick and pull us back level, where it finished 3-3.

Kilmacow FC visited The Paddock recently for two games against our U7s and U9s. Two great games of football, and loads of skills on show. The games had lots of brilliant goals and it was a thoroughly enjoyable morning. Thanks to Kilmacow for coming down to play us. Training continues on Sunday at 10am. All are welcome.

For the upcoming season our U15’s have kindly been sponsored a new set of jerseys by Jimmy's Takeaway, Portlaw 051 566918. Thank you for your support, it is very much appreciated.
Portlaw 4-1 Southend: Team Sponsor: Pat Kerley Windows & Doors. With all the lads having played a game earlier in the day a lot of tired bodies arrived at the paddock for the afternoon kickoff. We struggled to get into the game early but we defended brilliantly to keep Southend at bay an d grew into the game with Kevin Lyons giving up the lead with a great strike. Samuel Deevy had us 2 up just before the break finishing a great ball by Alfie.

With Southend hitting straight back in first half injury time to leave the score 2-1. Against a strong breeze we upped our work rate and played some great football. A quick free kick by Cian Power set Alfie away and he set up Deevy for his second before Sam Croke set up Deevy shortly afterwards to bring up the hat trick. Brilliant performance and work rate from the lads today and a lot of aching bodies afterwards.
Result Round 3: Ballinroad 0-4 Portlaw. Team Sponsor: The Clodagh Bar. Great performance from the lads in what is always a difficult place to get a result. We took control from kick off and inside 10 mins Jordi set up Sam Croke to tap home from close range. Our second arrived midway through the first half with a great finish from John Power to finish off another good team move. Early in the second half Jordi set up Croke for his second goal with Samuel Deevy rounding off the scoring when he broke away and lobbed the advancing keeper. We advance to the last 32 open draw and look forward to the challenge it brings. A brilliant achievement for players and coaching team.
