Dunmore Road Bereavement 

The death has sadly occurred on Friday, July 18, 2025, of Mr Davy (David) McGrath Dournane, Mooncoin, Kilkenny / Dunmore East, Waterford, formerly of Ballygarron, Dunmore East, Waterford and a former employee of St. Otteran’s Hospital, Waterford. 

Predeceased by his loving parents, Edward & Catherine, siblings, Rita, Nora, Eddie, Willie & Pat. He is survived by his loving wife Elsie, children, Deirdre, Dermot, David, Eilish and Colette, sons-in-law Maurice and Ciaran, daughter-in-law Eileen, grandchildren, Ryan, Beth, Eoin, Kate, Eddie, Kevin, Rachel and Alex, sisters Kathleen, Eileen (Sr Patricia) and Josie, brother Peter, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. 

Davy will be sadly missed by all his relatives, extended family neighbours and friends. 

Requiem Mass took place on Monday, July 21, in The Church of the Assumption, Mooncoin, at 11am. 

Followed by burial afterwards in the New Cemetery. 

Condolences are extended to Davy's (David) family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Bereavement 

The death has sadly occurred on Sunday, July 20, 2025, of Liza Chubar (Fox), Viewmount, Waterford. 

She is survived by her loving mother Elena, her father Pavel, sisters Anastasia and Julia and her extended family and friends. 

Liza will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family and friends. 

Requiem Mass took place on Friday, July 25, at 10:30am in St Joseph & St. Benildus Church, Newtown, Waterford, followed by burial in St Mary's Cemetery, Ballygunner, Waterford. 

Condolences are extended to Liza's family, relatives and friends. 

May she rest in peace.

Southside Motor Club and Cars and Coffee Waterford 

Are hosting a charity drive in aid of Bumbleance on Sunday, August 17, 2025. 

Cars can gather for Waterford's monthly cars and coffee, and will then depart at approximately 1pm to head on a coastal scenic drive with an end location at Waterford Raceway for a few laps and photo opportunities. 

Bucket collection and Raffle on the day.

Registration fee €10 per car.

All funds raised on the day go to Bumbleance.

Summer Stars Free Reading Programme

Summer Stars Free Reading Programme runs from now until August 31 in Waterford Libraries. 

Pick up your child’s Reading Card, complete it before August 31 and drop it back at your local library. 

Any child who completes the Summer Stars Reading Programme will receive a medal and certificate in October 2025.

Summer Stars Monster Doodle @ Central Library 

Colour in and create your own creatures as part of Central Libraries Monster Doodle craft event, running every Saturday for the month of July, from 10 am to 1 pm. 

For Children of all age.

The Arts Office, Waterford City & County Council, is pleased to announce that entries are now being accepted for the Waterford Poetry Prize 2025. 

There is no age limit and no entry fee for the Waterford Poetry Prize 2025.

The Annual Gerry Rush Memorial Coffee Morning 

The Annual Gerry Rush Memorial Coffee Morning at the Guillamene Tramore will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at 10.30am.

Music from the Waterford Male Voice choir, Teas, coffees, and delicacies available plus a raffle with some very nice prizes. 

Donations of cakes, buns and other baked goods will be gratefully accepted. All monies raised here will be donated to Waterford Hospice.

Please do come along for an enjoyable morning to raise funds for a great cause!
