Sympathy

It is with great sadness that we record the passing of Eamon Quinlan, Killelton, Stradbally, Co. Waterford, on Wednesday, September 17, surrounded by his loving family in the care of University Hospital Waterford.

Eamon was predeceased by his mother, Mary, and niece Ava. He is deeply mourned by his father Martin, sisters Carmel and Christine, brothers-in-law Kieran and Sam, nephew Aaron, niece Emily, aunts, uncles, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing took place at Drohan’s Funeral Home, Dungarvan, on Friday, September 19, where neighbours and friends gathered to pay their respects. His Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 20, in Holy Cross Church, Stradbally, celebrated by Canon Edmond Cullinan with Monsignor Joe Corbett and Fr. Michael Enright. The Mass was live-streamed to family and friends abroad, especially Aunt Breda, Cousin Christopher and his wife Regina in Florida. Music was provided by Robert Weldon, with readings and offertory gifts offered by family members.

Canon Edmond, in his homily, remembered Eamon as a devoted son who cared for his parents with love, a man of faith, nature and animals, and a loyal friend and neighbour who accepted his illness with dignity.

The Quinlan family wish to sincerely thank the doctors, nurses, pharmacists and staff of University Hospital Waterford for their care, and the staff of Care Choice who enabled Martin to say goodbye to his son.

Eamon was laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery, deeply mourned by his family, neighbours and friends.
