Bereavement

The death sadly occurred on Wednesday, June 19, of Mr. Joseph (Joe) Cullinan, retired member of An Garda Shíochana and late of Riverview, Knockboy, Waterford, and formerly of Crusheen, Co Clare. 

Predeceased by his loving parents Timothy and May, his sister Mary and brother Michael, he is survived by his loving wife Teresa, sons Brendan, Owen and Rory, brother Jim, sisters Bernadette and Clare, grandchildren Chloe, Laura, Abbie, Ben, David and Maeve, daughters-in-law Tara and Olive, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Joseph will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Requiem Mass took place on Saturday, June 22, in St. Joseph and Benildus Church, Newtown at 10.30am with burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner.

Condolences are extended to Joseph's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Bereavement

The death sadly occurred on Tuesday, June 18, of Mr Patrick (Pat) McArdle, Heathfield Drive, Grantstown Village, Waterford, and formerly of Belturbet, Co Cavan, Cheltenham and London. A late member of Waterford Bridge Club, he is survived by his loving wife Phil, his loving family, neighbours and his wonderful friends. 

Patrick will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Requiem Mass took place on Friday, June 21, in St Mary’s Church, Ballygunner at 11.30am. Private Cremation will follow at a later date. 

Condolences are extended to Patrick's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Bereavement

The death sadly occurred on Saturday, May 4, of Mary Margaret (Maria) Hegarty, late of Newtown, Passage East, Co Waterford and Sandown Park Care Home, Windsor, England. Predeceased by her loving parents, sisters Margaret and Kathleen, and her brothers Denis, Dan, Henry (in infancy), Jerry and Pat, she is survived by her loving sister Renee (Power), brother Jim, sisters-in-law Renée and Nora, her cousin and stalwart friend, Maureen (Bridge), all her extended family and friends. 

Mary will be sadly missed by all her relatives, extended family, and friends. Requiem mass took place on Saturday, June 15, at 10.30am in St. John the Baptist Church, Crooke, Passage East, Co Waterford followed by burial immediately afterwards in Crooke Cemetery. 

Condolences are extended to Mary's family, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Bereavement

The death sadly occurred on Thursday, June 13, of Mr Peter Lojewsky, Woodstown, Passage East, and formerly of Germany. 

Predeceased by his loving mother Gertrude, brother Werner and Angie’s son Matthew, he is survived by his loving mother wife Angie, her son Ben and family, his sisters Ulla and Kristal, brother Lothar, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, nephew Thomas, grandniece Jessyka and other nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Peter will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Private Cremation will follow. 

Condolences are extended to Peter's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.

Farronshoneen Project Centre

If you are living on the Williamstown or Dunmore Road area we have a mixed gender art group for those aged 16 to 18 years running every Monday from 7pm. 

If you are interested please don't hesitate to contact Nina on 086 7816269. 

There are one hour slots available to book in the Farronshoneen Project Centre Games Room every Monday in July and August.

The one-hour slots are available for up to six young people per session and activities include pool, air hockey and Playstation. If any of our young people are interested in booking in throughout the summer please contact Catriona on 083 0106257.

Solas Retreat

The Solas Retreat at Mount Congreve will take place on Wednesday, June 27 and will be aimed at bereaved clients of the Solas Cancer Suport Centre. The retreat will take place from 9.45am to 2pm. High Hopes Choir

Waterford's High Hopes Choir is currently looking for a guitar player.

Passage East Festival

Passage Festival Day will take place on Sunday, July 14. There will be live music, food and loads of kids fun activities.

Waterford City and County Council's 'Playful Streets' will kick things off at 2pm, with games for kids. That will be followed by live music and food. Everyone is welcome to go along and enjoy what promises to be a fun-filled festival. We hope to see you there!

Charity Concert

A concert in aid of Brain Tumour Ireland will take place in Waterford's SETU Arena on June 30, at 7.30pm.

The Adult Youth Orchestra of Ireland will present, 'Christmas in June', as a fundraising concert to support Brain Tumour Ireland. 

Enjoy a festive selection of Christmas movie music in an unconventional summer setting. This novel orchestral and choral concert will be conducted expertly by Ronan O'Reilly, Liam Daly, Dr Kevin and Dara Pender, and the orchestra will be lead once again by Cork's, Sarah Murphy. 

We believe every moment is there to be celebrated so why not join us in celebrating Christmas in June and raise much needed funds for Brain Tumour Ireland.

Board Game Saturdays 

Board Game Saturdays take place at Waterford's Central Library every Saturday morning from 10am to 12noon. 

Drop in for some family fun time playing boards games. Everyone is welcome, however, those under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Ardkeen Library

Rainbow By Aga will be visiting Ardkeen Library on Tuesday, July 2, for two special sessions.

Try something different with your baby by visiting us for the sessions in the library at 10am - Toddler Yoga (for under 4s).A free session, mats will be provided. At the 10.45am there will be a baby massage class for those under one. This will also be a free session, however, booking is essential as places are limited. Call us on 051 849755 to book your child's place.

Ready Steady Play

Join us at Ardkeen Library for Ready Steady Play music and movement as part of our summer celebrations in July. 

The sessions will take place on Tuesday, July 16, at 10.30am (for walkers up to 8 years) and the session is additional needs friendly. 

A session will take place at 11.15am for walkers up to 5 years and all are welcome. Contact libraries directly for bookings and a reminder these are free events but spaces are limited.

Baby and Me Group

A Baby and Me Group takes place in Ardkeen Library on Wednesdays from 10.30am to 12noon. Children under 12 years must be accompanied and supervised in the library by a parent/guardian.

Drop in and all are welcome.

Art Camp

A Summer Art Camp will take place in Fisherman's Hall, Dunmore East, from Monday, July 1 to Friday, July 5 and also from Monday, July 29, to Friday, August 2.

The camp will be aimed at children aged from 5 to 12 years and will feature arts & crafts, painting, drawing, clay sculpture, papier maché, collage, music, dance and games. For more information or to book your place phone Caroline on 087 2189185.
