Local Notes: Dunmore Arts and Craft sale, community roadshow and comedy nights

Mass times in Killea Church are: Wednesday, March 20 - 7.30 pm; Friday, March 22 - 9.30 am; Sunday March 24 - 10.00 am. Mass In Carbally Church is every Sunday at 11 am.
An Easter Art and Craft sale will take place in the Fishermen's Hall on Saturday, March 30, and Sunday March 31, from 11am to 5pm organised by Gaultier I.C.A. If anyone is interested in joining the craft group, they meet Wednesday evenings from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at the GAA club. Contact Mary for more information at 086 210 4596.
Eigse Players will present a very humorous event on Saturday, April 6 at 8pm in Carbally Community Centre called ‘Hitting the Jackpot’. It's a delightful comedy about winning €10 million. There are limited tickets available at €10 each. Your ticket, purchase directly contributes to upkeep and maintenance of the Hall.
On Wednesday, April 3, the Waterford Council Connecting Communities Roadshow is in the Haven Hotel at 8 pm .The event is being held in partnership with the community groups and stakeholders. The roadshow will offer local people the opportunity to engage with the Local Authority and its associated partners. They will also provide insight and guidance about setting up community groups, sourcing funding for developing community initiatives and how to build a stronger inclusive and vibrant place to live.

David Murray has been appointed as the new full-time Station Mechanic in Dunmore. David joined the RNLI in as a volunteer in 2013. He replaces Roy Abramson, the former Coxswain/Mechanic. Dunmore RNLI was represented at the recent service of thanksgiving held in Westminster Abbey to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the organisation. Those attended from Dunmore were Rosario Burke, Mary Rose Mc Quinn, Mary Torrie, Carme McAllister and Carol McGeary.
With time slipping by quickly just a reminder of the first three Cruise Ships to visit the area in 2024. On May 9, Norwegian Star with 2,348 passengers, May 16, Celebrity Silhouette with 2,886 passengers and May 28, will see Jewel of the Seas, with 2,702 passengers, arriving.
