Local Notes: Cycle challenge, Nire Valley Drop and the Ballymac bingo

Last Friday saw another big crowd flock to the centre for our monthly bingo event. It’s great to see this playground fundraiser get such great support and we are hugely grateful to all who attended. A big thanks to our Bingo caller, Thomas Crotty who does a fabulous job each night. See you in June for our next event.
Spread the word that the Comeragh and Knockmealdown Leisure Cycle challenge is coming to Ballymacarbry on Sunday, July 14. The initiative is being organised as a Panda Playground Fundraiser and it promises to be a great event. Kindly organised by a group of volunteers from Dungarvan Cycling Club, we are looking forward to seeing a huge crowd participate. The event is part of Cycling Munster Leisure Series and will consist of two routes: 50km and 110km. Open to all cycling enthusiasts and leisure cyclists, you can register for the event through the link on our social media pages. Ballymacarbry Community Centre will be the epicentre of the event and we’ll be looking for kind volunteers to be road marshals for this large event. We are delighted to announce the return of the hugely popular ‘Bricks 4 Kidz’ camp,, to the community centre this summer. The initiative will take place from July 15 to 19, from 10am to 1.30pm daily. Booking is now possible through the Bricks 4 Kidz website and through the link shared on the community centre social media channels. Book early to avoid disappointment.
Recent weeks has seen the centre extremely busy with birthday parties and other celebrations each weekend. We can facilitate all group sizes and requirements across our various rooms and halls. Access to our astroturf facility for children's birthday parties is always a huge hit. It is also possible to book bouncy castles for the astroturf hall. Our friends from the Nire Valley Drop committee are delighted to announce that registration is now open for this year's Nire Valley Summer Drop which will take place on Saturday, July 13. This summer the event is doing something a little different - all the thrills, spills and trails you love, but in the height of Summer.
This year the event will finish up in the heart of the forest with refreshments for all participants. This will be followed by an open air concert where attendees will be entertained by DJ Mad Mike, The Cedartowns , Rising tide and Jack Colbert. Events taking place in the community centre this week will include: Fitness: Our local fitness expert Stephanie Byrne will continue her weekly fitness classes each Tuesday evening at 7pm and bright and early each Thursday morning from 6.30am. Contact Stephanie on 087 6291955 if you would like to get involved in these ever-popular classes.
Gym Facility: Calling all local sports clubs and personal trainers. If you are interested in accessing a modern gym facility for your team or if you are interested in organising a fitness class, please contact us on 086 0328467.

WWETB: Classes have now finished for the summer, but we urge anyone that might be interested in taking a class for the next term (beginning in September) to contact us here in the centre or the WWETB directly. There is a huge range of courses available to suit all interests and needs.
