The death sadly occurred on Monday, May 27, of Mr Christopher (Christy) Carroll, Viewmount, Dunmore Road, Waterford, formerly of St. Alphonsus Road and late of Arco and Aran Kitchens.
Predeceased by his lovely brothers Paddy and Thomas, his sisters Sarah, Maureen, Essie, Brenda and Josephine, he is survived by his loving wife Eily, daughters Priscilla, Pamela and Joyce, son Oliver, grandchildren Ryan, Louisa, Niamh, Darragh, Ben and Richie, little Miss Poppy, sister Evelyn, daughter-in-law Daphne, sons-in-laws David and Said, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Christopher will be sadly missed by all his family, relatives, extended family, neighbours and friends. Requiem Mass took place on Thursday, May 30, at 11.30am at St. Mary’s Church, Ballygunner, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Condolences are extended to Christopher's family, relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
Farronshoneen Centre is delighted to share that our annual Bingo fundraiser in aid of Farronshoneen Summer Programme 2024 will be taking place on Tuesday, June 11, in the Forum Bingo, The Glen.
Doors will open at 7pm and eyes down at 8pm. Tickets are €10, of which €5 goes directly to the centre. These have to be brought directly from us in advance of the event as they cannot be purchased on the night. There will also be a raffle on the night with all proceeds coming to us. Waterford Cheshire is holding its Summer Car Boot Sale on John's Hill, Waterford (X91 HH97) on Sunday, June 9, from 10am to 2pm. A space for this event costs €20 and they can be booked on 086 8801860, text only with full name and contact details. There will be a variety of stalls on the day and you will be supporting a good cause.
Dog owners should take note of a great fundraiser coming up in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation. Walk 100km with your dog in June and raise funds to save lives from heart disease and stroke. When you finish your dog will be a certified personal trainer and you’ll earn a medal. Sign up now to get your doggie bandana.
The launch of an illustrated collection of minimalist poetry titled, 'View from my Window', written by Ger Rogers and illustrated by Anne McDonnell, will take place on Saturday, June 22, in Central Library, Lady Lane at 3pm. This is a free event and everyone is welcome to attend, no booking required.
The Annual Cemetery Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ballygunner, will take place on Thursday, June 20, at 7.30pm.
Drivers are wanted for Little Nellie’s Baby Bank. Volunteers are required to drive a van for one or two hours per week.

Waterford Library Service will run the Summer Stars Reading Adventure in all library branches during the summer from Tuesday, June 4 until August 31.
Each child is invited to register for the adventure at any library and will be given a Summer Stars Reading Card to record and track their progress. At the end of the adventure, children return their reading card to their local Library. Waterford Library staff will visit schools in October to present the children with their Summer Stars medal and certificate of achievement.
Get creative with Central Library to celebrate Cruinniú na nÓg. Come along to a Creative Dance Class with dance artist, Rachel Ní Bhraonáin. This is a dance class for children who love to move and be creative. The hour will be full of games and great songs to get your child to express themselves exercise and have fun through dance.
