The RNLI shop is open in Dunmore East

Mass Times

Mass times in Killea Church this week are comprised of: Wednesday, June 26 (7.30pm); Friday, June 28 (9.30am); Sunday, June 30 (9.30am) and Mass in Carbally Church at 11am.

Dunmore East RNLI

The opening hours of Dunmore East RNLI Gift Shop are now in place. The shop is open seven days a week and the hours are Monday to Saturday, from 11am to 5pm and on Sunday from 12.30pm to 5pm. All are welcome to drop in and browse the shop.

Cruise Liners

The next cruise liner due to dock off Dunmore East will arrive on Thursday, June 24, and is due to remain in place from 7am to 4pm. 

The ship, 'Celebrity Silhouette', will have 2,852 passengers on board and on Tuesday, July 2, the 'Seven Seas Mariner' will dock from 7am until 4pm, with 708 passengers. All local residents and businesses please note.

Art Camp

The annual Art Craft in Fisherman's Hall, Dunmore East, will take place on the following dates: Monday, July 1 to July 5 and Monday, July 29 to August 2. For more information contact 087 2189185. 

Art Classes also take place in Carbally Community Centre every Saturday, from 7pm to 9pm. For more information contact 086 8124332.

Cemetery Masses

The annual Cemetery Masses and blessing of the graves for all those interred in the Tramore and District cemeteries will take place this coming week. 

First up is Carbally on Wednesday, June 26, at 7.30pm followed by Tramore on Thursday, June 27, at 7.30pm. Blessing of graves will take place immediately after Mass in Carbally and Holy Cross, Tramore, St Patrick's and St Declan’s, Tramore.

Soccer 

Dunmore East FC captured Cup silverware for the first time since 1999 when a hat-trick from Thomas Martin helped them to a 4-0 win over Piltown, as they landed the Jimmy O'Neill Division 2 Cup title in the final at Ozier Park on Friday evening week last; the first goal being scored by Eoghan Reilly. 

The team lined out as follows: Barry Lee, Milo Curran, Joe Newell, Dean Kearns, Patrick Queally, Colin O'Shea, Thomas Martin, Ian Dunne (Capt) Stephen Walsh, Eoghan Reilly and Peter Queally. Congratulations to the entire panel and management.

Athletics

In a top class International 400 metres hurdles race, in the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland on Tuesday last, Thomas Barr from Ferrybank finished fourth, in 49.46 seconds. Then, on Thursday in Bydosazck, Poland, he ran a super race finishing in second place in a season best of 48.79. The qualifying time for Olympics is 48.70 and he was running again in Geneva Switzerland on Saturday morning.
