Sincere sympathy is extended to the family of Eamon Power, 5 Cross Roads. Eamon's passing took place recently. His remains were removed to St Patrick's Church on Thursday, July 11, for Requiem Mass.
He was a valued member of Portlaw GAA Club and steam member of the hurling team for many years, and also a well-known member of the farming community in his area. To his wife Ann and his family, his sisters Carmel, Maria and Ann, to his extended family, sincere condolences.
Congrats to our Minor Hurlers who enjoyed a great win over Tramore in Portlaw recently. Congrats to our Intermediate Hurlers on a great win earlier versus Ballyduff. Final score Portlaw 5-16 Ballyduff 0-11.
We were very saddened to hear today of the passing of Eamon Power, RIP. Eamon was a player with Portlaw during our golden period in the 70s and is remembered fondly by all who played with him during this period. His son Mike is our current Juvenile Chairman and his grandsons Daithi and Ruari are important players on our underage teams. All at Portlaw GAA extend our deepest sympathies to his loving wife Ann, sons Brendan, Mike, John and Kevin, his daughter Catherine, grandchildren and extended family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Well done to our U10 Players of the Week for the month of June. These girls have been training very hard over the past few weeks. Congratulations to Mary Kate, Willow and Aoife. Well done girls. Our U12 team played a display match at half time during the U16 County Camogie Championship, Waterford vs Offaly at Walsh Park recently.

We were delighted to host the U14 Waterford Camogie panel recently. We have two girls from our club on this panel, Sarah O'Connor and Sarah Kelly, which we are extremely proud of!
Thanks to Freddie and Valerie for organising the refreshments for the team. We were delighted to have the girls there making use of our new facilities.

Dr Finnegan and his wife Kate retired from the Health Centre in Portlaw. Both Dr Finnegan and Kate were present on Friday evening, June 28 in the Health Centre to say farewell to their clients and friends. A large crowd were present following their kind invitation. They were both thanked for their service and professionalism in looking after the health of the people of Portlaw and further afield, serving the needs for over 30 years. They were in great demand for photographs with the people who attended and were the recipients of many presents from the well-wishers. It was a lovely ending to their period in Portlaw as people mingled, talked and enjoyed the cup of tea and the food. They had become familiar figures in our midst, looking after the health needs of their many patients. We wish them well in their retirement and thank them for their outstanding service to the area. The replacement doctor for the health centre is Dr. Ciaran Cassidy from Wexford.

We send our condolences to her sons Eamonn, Michael, Paul and John, her daughter Anna and all of her extended family and friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.
