Temperatures set to reach up to 30 degrees this week
The sunny weather is set to return this week, with temperatures as high as 30 degrees, according to Met Éireann.
It will be mainly dry this week, but some thunderstorms could occur later in the week and over the weekend.
Monday will mostly be dry with warm spells of hazy sunshine developing across the Midlands, South and East.
Spells of sunshine will continue to develop through the morning and afternoon over much of Munster and Leinster, and will extend farther northwards and westwards throughout the day.
Highest temperatures will range from 16 to 19 degrees in the northwest and west but reach 20 to 25 degrees elsewhere, warmest in the south and east, with temperatures possibly a little higher farther south.
Temperatures will drop to 11 to 15 degrees overnight. Patchy rain and mist are expected in Ulster and Connacht. Elsewhere, it’ll be dry, especially in the south and east.
Tuesday will start off cloudy in the north and west, with a little patchy light rain, drizzle and mist for a time in the morning, mainly in parts of Ulster and Connacht.
It will be dry elsewhere with good spells of sunshine from early on in the south and east, and with sunshine gradually extending further north and west through the day.
Temperatures will generally rise to the low to mid-twenties, a little higher in parts of the east and southeast, where temperatures will possibly reach 27 or 28 degrees.
Wednesday will be another hot day, with temperatures getting as high as 28 degrees.
While it is likely to be rather cloudy at first, mainly in parts of the west and north, sunshine will gradually become more widespread.
Highest temperatures will range from 18 to 20 degrees in the northwest and west, but generally in the low or mid-twenties, highest across Leinster, where temperatures will be even a little higher locally, up to 27 or 28 degrees.
While temperatures are set to be in the low 20s on Thursday, it could get as hot as 30 degrees on Friday, with a risk of thunderstorms.
