Villa were much too strong for Bohs in every area of the field in this Under 16A League game at workLAB Connors Park on Saturday last despite the Ben Wadding Park outfit starting well striking an early goal.

But the home side bounced back to take all three points in comfortable fashion as hit their opponents for seven goals. Bohs looked organised and composed in the first-half and stayed in the game, but in the second-half, the hosts turned on the gas and there was only ever going to be one winner as they scored six times.

Jake Holohan was the stand out player for Villa and his link up play with striker Jack Doheny was a joy to watch and also Louis Corcoran in midfield for Villa was also outstanding.

BOHS GO IN FRONT

The game was only minutes old when the visitors took the lead. A long ball out of defence caught the Villa defence square and Bohs striker Eric Mallmann was onto the ball in a flash and left the home defenders behind as he raced in on goal, he drew the keeper off his line before sliding the ball into the far corner.

However Villa were only behind for 3 minutes as he equalised on 8 minutes. Douglas Golles found Liam O’Grady free on the edge of the edge of the box and sent a low volley into the far corner of the net.

At this stage Bohs were dealing well with the Villa attack and looking to get forward themselves. On 22 minutes Bohs keeper Dave Mukwenya tried to take on Jack Doheny but lost the ball to the Villa striker who set up Aaron Doran but the keeper recovered to save.

Villa winger Douglas Golles then missed two chances to put Villa in front eight minutes later. The first one he headed wide after a deep cross from Aaron Doran, the Golles cut inside from the left to send a right foot shot just wide of the far post.

GOAL MAD HOSTS

The home side took the lead as the second period got underway on 47 minutes, Jake Holohan played a clever one two with Jack Downey and when he took the return Holohan scored in off the far post.

On 62 minutes, they added a third when Douglas Golles found Holohan on the edge of the box and side stepped two defenders before hitting a right foot shot into the far corner.

A fourth arrive seven minutes later. Louis Corcoran drove in a near post corner kick and Aaron Doran arrived on cue to send a flick header into the roof of the net. Villa hit the net for a fifth time on 70 minutes when Louis Corcoran played a pass that split the Bohs defence and Villa winger Joel Osawe raced clear and from a near post position he blasted the ball high into the roof of the net beyond the diving Bohs keeper Dave Mukwenya.

Villa brought on striker Jakub Maryniak and he scored twice in the last five minutes, the first one he made a neat touch in the box to score on the turn and then he turned home a cross by Holohan in the last minute.
