Danny and Tom on the double in glorious Tramore sunshine

The winner of the Download The New Tote App Maiden Hurdle was the Tom Mullins trained Kimy ridden by Danny Mullins and they are pictured with Steph Searle, Shay and Aoife Byrne.
The glorious September sunshine brought a few more punters to the rescheduled Tramore race meeting on Wednesday last where Danny Mullins and his uncle Tom brought up a 39/1 double with thanks to C’est Rein and Kimy.
After running at the track last November, the former landed a first success in 26 attempts for trainer Tom and owner/breeder Helen Mullins when landing the Tramore Free Streaming All Racing At Tote.ie Handicap Chase on her chasing debut.
Under a confident ride from Danny, the daughter of Walk In The Park was held up in rear of the field before making considerable progress after the fence at the top of the hill before closing after jumping the second last.
With leader Greenway Machine getting first run down to the final fence, Mullins didn’t panic on the 9/1 shot, who landed in front before staying on best to land the spoils by a length-and-three-quarters with the local trainer Smitty Bacall a further three and a quarter lengths back in third.
Team Mullins were back in the winners enclosure just over a half-hour later as the frustrating Kimy, who was sent off the 3/1 second favourite behind hotpot Picture of You, ran out a cosy winner of the Download The New Tote App Maiden Hurdle.
After having a winless streak of ten runs, the cheekpieces certainly played a part in victory as she ran out an impressive six-and-a-half lengths winner of the 3/100 odds on Henry de Bromhead favourite, who only stayed on through beaten horses on the run-in.
With Polly Poppins leading the field for much of the journey, the winner stalked her rivals to led before the second-last flight of hurdles to asset approaching the last where a slick jump sealed the double for the Mullins’ with the Picture Of You back in second and Scotcantou a further three-and-a quarter- lengths third.
A morning gamble paid dividend in the opening Tote.ie Handicap Chase as Must Be Dreaming, who had an opening price in the morning of 25/1, was well supported to return 13/2 as the Garret Ahern trained and John Shinnick ridden seven-year-old mare came off the pace to win.
Last successful when winning over the smaller obstacles at Wexford back in 2022, she was produced to lead by Shinnick after jumping the second-last before gong onto beat Prince of Air by four-and-a-half lengths with favourite Just Jacob a further length-and-three-quarters back in third.

The Friday Man made a return to trainer Gordon Elliott after a spell with Moses McCabe a winning one as he record a fifth success of his career under Jack Kennedy to land a dramatic Tramore Racecourse Directors Beginners Chase.
Settled behind the leaders, he edged closer going down the hill approaching the second-last fence, and when favourite Iris Emery took a crashing fall under Paul Townend, Kennedy’s mount took full advantage to score by four-and-three-quarter lengths ahead of the staying-on Shajak with Ceroc back in third.

Wexford trainer Liz Doyle gained compensation for a difficult time of thing when she returned to the winners enclosure in the number one spot as 6/1 shot First Dare ran out a convincing five-length winner of the Tramore Racecourse Directors Handicap Hurdle.
In the hands of seven-pounder claimer Tom Harney, the daughter of Beat Hollow tracked the leaders early in the race before going third after the third last. Improving to second approaching the penultimate hurdle, the six-year-old mare wasn’t fluent, but stayed on best to beat Ta Na La with Wajaaha back in third spot.

There was a long priced winner of the second-last race on the card – the Students Raceday October 10th Maiden Hurdle as first reserve Dee’s Getaway (20/1) secured the winner for trainer Philip Dempsey in the hands of Charlie O’Dwyer.
Well-beaten in her previous four starts, the Getaway sired filly produced a hard fought success to sting favourite backers as the well-fancied He’s Ultimate in the hands of Jack Kennedy had to settle for second place with O’Dwyer’s five-pound claim helping matters as the top weight conceded 15lb in total to win by half-a-length with Whitewinewednesday a further two-and-a-quarter lengths third.

Trainer Conor Maxwell recorded his first winner under National Hunt rules as his Alison Dalgarno-owned Mabel In May (12/1) landed Tramore's concluding Tote, Never Beaten By SP Handicap Hurdle, under jockey Kieren Buckley when getting up on the line.
Initially held up in rear-division, the winner chased the leaders from the second-last and while the well-backed Scottish Dancer led on the run-in, the winner finished well and edged her nose in front at the line after a length photo finish with Miss Biddle a length-and-three-quarters back in third spot.
