Waterford Harbour Sailing Clubs success at Leinster Championships

Fionn Lynch and Max Sweetman receiving their Leinster Cup from Donie Herraghty, Commodore Lough Ree Yacht Club.
Lough Ree was the place to be last weekend as it served up a very enjoyable two days of sailing with wind, waves, gusts and sunshine to entertain the large 420 fleet that assembled as part of the Double Ree festival of double handed sailing as a total of 18 boats competed.
With six races over the two days by each boat the Waterford Harbour Sailing Club's duo of Fionn Lynch and Max Sweetman collected the gold with two points to spare over Blessington/Malahide S.C. 2nd and Galway Bay S.C. 3rd.
Making it a great weekend for Waterford Harbour Sailing Club Niamh Lynch, a sister of Fionn's with Grace Kelliher of Blenheim Heights, were second in the Silver 420 Class behind Galway Bay Sailing Club who scored 32 points over six races to Waterford's 39. It was the first time the girls were placed in a National event.
